Sam serves as Chief Executive Officer of Diversified Trust and is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. He is also actively involved in the management and oversight of client relationships. Sam is one of the company’s founding shareholders and has served on the Board of Directors and as Memphis office Managing Director since the company’s inception. Prior to co-founding Diversified Trust in 1994, Sam was a Vice President in the trust division of First Tennessee Bank and also formerly a member of Ernst & Young’s management consulting group.
Sam received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis. He also graduated with honors from the ABA Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and from the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School. Sam is a past president of the Memphis Estate Planning Council and is a Masters alumnus of The Leadership Academy of Memphis. In addition, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Memphis University School and as a board member of Teach For America in Memphis and Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Sam is also an Elder at Independent Presbyterian Church.
