Since the company’s inception, Sam has served as Managing Principal and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the development, execution and oversight of the company’s services. Prior to co-founding Diversified Trust, Sam was a Vice President in the trust division of First Tennessee Bank, and also formerly a member of Ernst & Young’s management consulting group.

Sam received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis. He also graduated with honors from the ABA Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and from the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School, and he is an Officer of the Executive Committee of the Estate Planning Council of Memphis. In addition, Sam is a charter member of the regional board of Teach For America in Memphis, and also serves on the Board of Trustees of Memphis University School, Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, and Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. He is also an Elder at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
