John has served as a Principal of Diversified Trust since 1998. He is actively engaged as a member of the investment committee which oversees the company’s investment platform. Previously, John spent twenty years with the Robinson-Humphrey Company where he worked with both individual and institutional clients. Additionally, John served as President of Beacon Education Management, a school management company, which he co-founded in 1994.

John received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University after which he served three years as an officer in the United States Navy. John is a member of the Downtown Nashville Rotary Club and Leadership Nashville. He was a Founding Board Member and Former Chairman of the Martha O’Bryan Foundation and previously served as Chairman of the Nashville Mental Health Association and the Nashville Vanderbilt Alumni Association. John presently serves on the Board of the Tennessee Charter School Association and as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
