Estate Planning for 2010 – Changes and Challenges
Steve Akers will review the important developments in the federal income, estate and gift tax laws. The impact of federal legislation, if any, passed between the time of this announcement and the time of the seminar will be covered. If no such legislation is in place at that time, then planning in light of the default rules established under the 2001 act which would take effect in 2010 will be covered. This seminar covers significant legislation, regulations, cases and rulings and will include an overview of important planning implications from these new regulations and key changes of which advisors should be aware. There will also be a discussion of “defined value clauses” and planning with grantor trusts.
